The Problem
Down Under Bedding sells products successfully on Amazon however wanted to diversify off of that platform so they weren't at risk of account shutdowns, knock-off products, warehouse delays, high fees and hijacked listings. The client wanted to gain more control of their business but their Shopify store was not delivering the results needed to scale. The company had a cluttered website that wasn't focused on conversion, and it also did not have a brand story that would motivate visitors to buy.
The Solution
We first ran an audit of the Shopify performance metrics to assess the health of its online store.
Through this process we were instantly able to see that improving the conversion rate by even a small amount would have a massive impact on Down Under Bedding's online business. Our team focused the redesign around improving this metric and did so by optimizing the navigation, the product pages, the homepage, and building a story for the brand.
Our team was able to double the conversion rate by removing obstacles in the path to purchase, making it easier for visitors to find the right products, and by building an emotional connection with customers so they would be less likely to only buy when they were offered huge discounts.
We optimized the purchase pathway, added cross-sell technology to increase the average order value, and incorporated social proof and brand storytelling throughout the website.
Four weeks into working with them, we managed to double the conversion rate, resulting in over $250k in additional annual sales.
The Result
The redesigned Shopify store has allowed Down Under Bedding to scale their e-commerce sales on a platform they control so they can leverage their own data, remarket to previous and potential customers, and not be reliant on Amazon for most of their revenue.
The conversion rate increased by 203% and year over year revenue increased by 1,106%. Today, they are able to generate higher profit from organic and paid traffic because of the improved performance metrics.
